Website Platforms We Work With
If you are looking for ways to expand your online presence and drive new, meaningful traffic to your website, it may be time to start thinking about redesigning your website before you take any additional steps to generate new traffic. A website is a great way to showcase your business and portray your brand’s personality, but the reality is that a website is a lead and sales generation tool above all, which is why it is so important to work with a proven, experienced Honolulu web design firm that can help you get the most out of your new website.
Take a look below to get a better idea of who On The Map Marketing, Inc. is, and how we can help you present your business in an attractive AND effective manner in support of the rest of your digital marketing efforts.
Steps to our Web Design Process
Too often, amateur or “cheap” designers skip the most fundamental steps in the design process and go straight to wireframes. When you are working with On The Map for your Honolulu web design process, you can be certain that there is a lot more work than just mocking up a site and plugging in your content. We have a tried and true design process that takes a holistic approach to your needs, your industry, your competition, and ultimately what your target audience wants to see in a website like yours.
What key learnings can we take away from your existing website, your competitors’ websites, and your industry’s online presence as a whole? Each of these areas will provide us with valuable insights as we begin to understand how to most effectively present your business on the internet.
Designing a new website without performing an in-depth analysis of your existing site introduces the potential to make the same mistakes over again, which means that there will be a lot of work and energy put into something that should have been recognized as a weak point. In addition, failure to analyze could also mean missing something extremely useful and helpful that otherwise may be overlooked, costing you potential conversions and ultimately reducing your return on investment.
Once we have completed our in-depth analysis, the next step is to develop a strategy for every step of our design process, including your wishes for your site, your conversion goals, and more. Without taking the time to create a proper strategy, miscommunications can happen between teams that can lead to costly and time-consuming revisions.
This is another step that amateur or beginner designers may either not put enough effort into, or overlook entirely. While this isn’t as sexy as the actual designs fo your website, though, this step, along with our analysis phase, is absolutely essential in order to generate meaningful and valuable traffic to your site.
Once we have completed the first two steps, we will move into the actual design phase. In this step, our designers will take the findings and goals laid out in our strategy phase and implement them into an effective, attractive, and compelling design. Two of the main focuses in this step are the user interface design and the user experience design. UI design is focused on providing your visitors with a simple, navigable site structure so that they can find their target actions and take them with ease. User experience design creates the “mood” of your site and allows your company’s attitude and aesthetic to show through.
Remember that your website is a lead generation tool, not a piece of art. If a user arrives to a website and finds that it is counterintuitive, confusing, or otherwise difficult to navigate, they will find it easier to “bounce” back out to the search results pages and click on the next website down. Our design goals are to retain your users so that they can ultimately do business with your company.
Once our wireframes have been built, we will present you with a non-interactive version of your website so that you can get an idea of how your site will look, where your different tools will live on the page, and the general feeling that your website will give off. These wireframes will include the central design elements such as font, color pallet, and layout, but will not include live versions of the different tools and elements that will ultimately be present once we publish your site.
Your 100% approval for your website is very important to us, and so we take this step very seriously. We pride ourselves in excellent communication with our clients through each step of our Honolulu web design process, meaning that we can avoid mistakes and errors and get you the site you expect as soon as possible.
